WE BELIEVE THAT BLACK LIVES MATTER Get Involved

GCC Summer 2021

June 7, 2021 Antoinette Richardson

Our Battle for Democracy continues this summer as we take our campaign to five Cleveland neighborhoods to engage voters around the 2021 Cleveland mayoral primary in September and the general election in November. Our canvassing efforts are focusing on the Central, Fairfax, Glenville, Lee-Harvard and Slavic Village neighborhoods, which have seen historically low voter turnouts in recent elections.

We are recruiting as many canvassers as we can from these five neighborhoods and from GCC congregations. We will provide canvassers with thorough training about how to engage people around voting and vaccinations in particular, and we will continue with COVID safety protocols, including mask wearing and social distancing.

This month, we will begin in Lee-Harvard and Fairfax. Throughout the summer, we’ll add neighborhoods and revisit some neighborhoods.

We need lots of canvassers to engage with as many people as possible. To sign up for June, please fill out this linked form.

Stay tuned for additional communications, events and actions in our ongoing Battle for Democracy campaign!
