Lent is a season of inward reflection, prayer and sacrifice. A time to prepare ourselves for Easter and the power of the resurrection. Coming in the “bleak mid-winter,” this is a season of lying fallow as the soil prepares itself for springtime. Likewise, it is a time for us to draw in a bit and begin to prepare for new spiritual growth.
