WE BELIEVE THAT BLACK LIVES MATTER Get Involved

Mother’s Wisdom ~ John 15: 9-17

May 10, 2015 Peg Weissbrod

The other day I was meeting with the General Presbyter of the our Presbytery, Linda Badger Becker, and we got to talking about wise words that we received from our mothers growing up.

Linda shared a saying that her mother said to her and that she passed on to her children. “Balloons break and milk spills!” In other words, “stuff happens!” Indeed “stuff” does happen. Read the rest of this entry »

Baltimore ~ Jeremiah 4

May 3, 2015 Peg Weissbrod

I received an email from my brother Andrew, who lives in Cairo, Egypt and has lived through the so-called “Arab Spring” there, with the rioting and police and army response. He asked if I was going to say something about the unfolding events in Baltimore. Read the rest of this entry »

To Know as We are Known ~ John 10:11-18

April 26, 2015 Peg Weissbrod

April 12, 2015 Peg Weissbrod

Happy Easter! Christ has risen, he has risen indeed! It is a week later and here we are in the same room. There are a bit fewer of us this week, but that’s ok. Letting Go ~ John 12:20-33

March 22, 2015 Peg Weissbrod

Philip and Andrew tell Jesus that some Greeks want to see him. And Jesus knows that NOW his hour has come. There are at least three other times in John’s Gospel where Jesus declares that his time has not yet come, but now Jesus is deeply aware of a change and he turns towards Jerusalem and the final days.
