The other day I was meeting with the General Presbyter of the our Presbytery, Linda Badger Becker, and we got to talking about wise words that we received from our mothers growing up.

Happy Easter! Christ has risen, he has risen indeed! It is a week later and here we are in the same room. There are a bit fewer of us this week, but that’s ok. It’s hard to believe there are only six Sunday’s before Pentecost. It takes at least six weeks or so for us to get our feet back on the ground, our heads to clear and get ready for the Holy Spirit to come! Read the rest of this entry »

Philip and Andrew tell Jesus that some Greeks want to see him. And Jesus knows that NOW his hour has come. There are at least three other times in John’s Gospel where Jesus declares that his time has not yet come, but now Jesus is deeply aware of a change and he turns towards Jerusalem and the final days.
