One of my first baptisms after being called to Forest Hill was for a little girl, perhaps 2 or 3 years old. Her parents were stationed overseas, moved a lot, and had not found a church – Forest Hill had been their home church and so when the parents felt moved to baptize their child it was here that they came.Well, this little girl wanted no part of me, or of getting wet. Happy New Year! This afternoon I shall turn on the television, watch the Steelers beat the Browns, and remove the ornaments from the tree, then the lights, and take the tree (which was one of the better ones we have ever had) to the tree lawn, where it will sit until Wednesday when it gets picked up for trash. Back in the early 70s when I was a teenager my friends and I loved to get dropped off at Tyson Corner mall. It was one of the fist mega-malls. You had to go there to do your Christmas shopping.
