Jan. 18 – Martin Luther King Sunday, 12:30 – 2:00 pm: Black History Month Committee presentation on MLK and Gandhi
Feb. 1 – Hip Hop 2.0; 12:30 – 2pm; Led by LaDon Headon
Feb. 8– Cajun Treats and Jazz music – 12:30 to 2pm
Youth Night, 5 – 7:30 pm – Mardi Gras Masks activity, Fat Tuesday
Feb.15 – Challenges of Becoming a Nurse and a Researcher – 12:30 – 2pm Speaker: Dr. Ronald Hickman, Ph.D., RN, a young African American Nurse Researcher and Assistant Professor of Nursing at Case Western Reserve University
Feb. 20 – Crooklyn Friday Movie Night 7:00 – 10:00pm: Family friendly night; hot dogs, pizza and popcorn. Short discussion after film.
Feb. 22 – Soul Food Pot Luck & Book Discussion – 12:30 – 3:00pm: The Immortal Life Of Henrietta Lacks AVAILABLE NOW. Dr. Gary, Ph.D., RN is an African American trailblazer and the Medical Mutual of Ohio Professor for Vulnerable and At-Risk Persons at Case Western Reserve University. She will speak at the 11am worship and then lead our book discussion on Henrietta Lacks and the National Institute of Health recommendations for future research protocols.
Feb. 22 – Evening Worship Service: A celebration of African Music, 7 – 9pm
Poetry, Stories and Music, led by Caleb Wright and featuring: Mother Willie Mae Wright and Peter Williams, and others.
