10:45am – 12:15pm
CHILDCARE (Rooms 201 & 203) is available for children ages birth to five. Childcare is also available on occasions when there are special rehearsals/classes before worship or congregational events/meetings after worship.
Two adult staff caregivers provide loving care for infants, toddlers, and preschoolers in rooms that are full of developmentally appropriate toys, books, and other materials. They are often assisted by volunteers from the Family, Youth, and Children’s ministry team.
Parents/caregivers sign children in/out of care, and are always welcome to visit or remain with their children throughout the morning. There are monitors in the childcare rooms that allow adults to see/hear a livestream of the worship service.
11:00am
CHILDREN (K-5th grade) BEGIN THE MORNING IN WORSHIP. Children join their families in the sanctuary to participate in the call to worship, music, and prayers that are offered during the first 15 minutes of the service. Families are encouraged to sit “up front” so that children can more easily see and hear. You will find children’s story bibles in every pew. Worship bags, with children’s bulletins and quiet activities, are always available for our youngest friends. And, a section of pews at the front of the sanctuary is a designated space for families – look for “Ted” (the big bear in the rocking chair) to welcome you!
11:15am – 12:00pm
SUNDAY SCHOOL (Room 207) Children in grades K-5 begin the morning in worship with their families. Following the Children’s Welcome or direction from Pastor John, children leave the sanctuary with their adult leaders to go to Sunday School. We gather as a multiage group for a snack and “checking in” and then divide into age groups to hear a story, ask wondering questions, and reflect on the morning’s theme through active experiences like art, games, drama, or lego building.
12:00pm – 12:15pm
CHILDREN’S MUSIC (Room 208 – Chapel) On most Sundays, at the conclusion of Sunday School (usually around 12pm) children move with their adult leaders across the hall to the Chapel for music with Julie Minder, Director of the Little Crescendos children’s choir. Julie leads the children in fun songs and movement, and the Little Crescendos sing in worship about six times each year. All children are welcome to paticipate in music with Julie on Sunday mornings, even if they do not sing in worship.
12:15pm
AFTER WORSHIP, parents and caregivers meet their children for pick up from childcare (Rooms 201 & 203) or Sunday School/Music (Rooms 207 & 208.)
Please contact Amy Wheatley, Director of Family Youth and Children’s Ministry or our church office if you are interested in receiving communications about upcoming programming for children.
